The Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG) conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) on E-Learning Instructional Design at Capital Hotel, Addis Ababa on July 16-19, 2018. The training was meant to provide trainers with skills necessary to develop E-Learning Instructional Materials.

Organized by the Continuing Medical Education (CME) committee under ESOG-ACOG-CIHRT Collaborative Project, the training brought trainees from ESOG, the Ethiopian Medical Association, the Federal Ministry of Health, the Ethiopian Public Health Association and other institutions. Experts from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) were providing the training.

With a full implementation of E-Learning Center, members and other health professionals will be able to attend CMEs online, from where they are. Skills acquired at the training will be used to develop E-Leaning materials to be used during E-Learning sessions.

The ESOG-ACOG collaborative project was launched in June, 2016 with the objective of addressing four thematic areas: Resident Ship, CME, Journal and Certification and Accreditation. The thematic areas to be addressed by the collaborative project later added three more areas to its list: IT, PR & Communication and Leadership Development. The issue of medical ethics was added later as yet another focus area of the project.
