ToT Conducted on CMEs

Training of Trainers (ToT) was conducted on Continuing Medical Education (CME) at the project office of the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG) on November 28, 2016. The one day training was part of the collaboration project between ESOG and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). ESOG CME Experiences, Planning a CME Meeting, Types of CME Meetings and Credit Assessment, Selecting CME Topics, Selecting CME Faculty and Next Steps were the topics covered by the training sessions and discussions conducted. The ToT brought together 14 participants from ESOG members, CME Committee members, ACOG, Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) and Ethiopian Thoracic Society (ETS).

Preconference CME Conducted on Abortion

A Preconference Continuing Medical Education (CME) was conducted at Hilton Hotel on November 29, 2016. The conference headlined African Regional Conference on Abortion was conducted on the following three days, November 30 through December 2, 2016. The preconference CME was organized by Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and the Center for International Reproductive Health Training (CIRHT). Attendees of the CME were all clinicians working on reproductive health including ESOG members. Topics covered during the CME included 2nd Trimester Abortion Updates, Research in the Context of Abortion and Quality of Care in the Context of Abortion. Each topic with its detailed discussion was held for an hour and 30 minutes.   

ESOG, CIRHT to Organize CME

The Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG,) in collaboration with the Center for International Reproductive Health Training (CIRHT), has organized a credited pre-conference Continuing Medical Education (CME) for all clinicians who provide reproductive health services. The conference entitled- The Africa Regional Conference on Abortion: From Research to Policy is to be held at Hilton Hotel on November 29, 2016 from 9AM through 4:30PM. The CMEswill cover a variety of topics ranging from Second trimester abortion updates and research in the context of abortion to quality of care in the context of abortion.
