Strengthening Health in Ethiopia: ESOG Launches Key RMNCAH Policy Documents
On 28 July 2026, the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG) marked a pivotal moment for maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health by participating in the National Dissemination of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) policy documents.
Senior government representatives, development partners, and health specialists convened at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Addis Ababa, with the goal of advancing Ethiopia’s progress toward attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and universal health coverage through creative policy and digital solutions.
The “National RMNCAH Advocacy Guideline” and the “National RMNCAH Domestic Resource Mobilization Implementation Guideline,” two crucial national policy documents, were disseminated at the event by ESOG in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
The dissemination event also featured the launch of several strategic documents and digital innovations, including the Adolescent and Youth Health (AYH) Strategy, Reproductive Health (RH) Strategy, digitized Inventory and Stock Status (ISS) Checklist, and the AYSRH Mobile Application.
ESOG expressed its profound gratitude to the Ministry of Health, AUDA-NEPAD, and other development partners. Their collaborative efforts were instrumental in achieving this significant milestone, underscoring the importance of teamwork in enhancing equitable access to high-quality RMNCAH services.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to fortify Ethiopia’s health system while also highlighting the significance of policy frameworks in enhancing health outcomes. ESOG and its partners want to expedite efforts to guarantee that all Ethiopians, have access to high-quality health services by emphasizing evidence-based policy and creative digital solutions.
